What is Mia?
What kind of restaurant is Mia?
Mia is a fine dining restaurant on Sukhumvit Soi 26, Bangkok, in a restored heritage home set back from the street. It holds One MICHELIN Star in the 2024, 2025 and 2026 editions of the MICHELIN Guide Thailand.
Asian heart. European craft. Asian culinary heritage defines the direction of the cuisine: the ingredients, the flavour memory, the cultural traditions of Thailand, Malaysia and broader Asia. European technique provides the precision and the methods.
The kitchen is led by husband-and-wife Chef-Patrons Top Russell and Michelle Goh.
What does "Asian heart. European craft." mean?
It is Mia's culinary identity in four words. Asian culinary heritage defines the direction and sensibility of the cuisine. European technique provides the tools, the methods, the execution.
As the restaurant describes it: "A dialogue between Asia and Europe. Bold in flavour. Precise in technique. Deeply personal in spirit."
Who are the chefs at Mia?
Mia is led by husband-and-wife Chef-Patrons Pongcharn 'Top' Russell and Michelle Goh.
Top is Thai-British, born in Nakorn Si Thammarat and raised on the shores of Phuket. He trained at Gauthier Soho, Sketch under Pierre Gagnaire (Three MICHELIN Stars), and Pollen Singapore under Jason Atherton. He is recognised as the first Thai chef to be awarded a MICHELIN Star for Western cuisine, and was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list.
Michelle Goh is Malaysian, from Kuching in Sarawak, the youngest female Malaysian chef and first Sarawakian to hold a MICHELIN Star. She trained at Eleven Bridge under Neil Perry in Sydney, at Pollen Singapore, and was head of pastry at Sühring Bangkok at the age of 23.
Is Mia a Thai restaurant?
No. Mia does not describe itself as a Thai restaurant. The cooking draws on Asian culinary heritage broadly, including Thai and Malaysian ingredients and traditions, applied through European kitchen technique.
The menus
What menus does Mia offer?
Mia runs four menus simultaneously: the Taste of Mia (the full dinner tasting menu), a vegetarian tasting menu, a vegan tasting menu, and a weekend lunch set available on Saturdays and Sundays.
All three dinner menus are available every service. A table where some guests eat meat and others are vegetarian or vegan can be accommodated without advance notice.
Are the vegetarian and vegan menus separate from the standard menu?
Yes. The vegetarian menu is built alongside the main menu, not as an afterthought. The vegan menu is a complete progression without animal products, with the same precision as the main list. A plant-based guest receives a menu conceived specifically for them, not an adaptation of the standard menu.
How often does the menu change?
The menu evolves throughout the year, with significant updates three to four times per year, reflecting seasonal ingredients and the creative direction of the kitchen.
What do the menus cost?
All prices are displayed with the ++ symbol, meaning they are exclusive of 10% service charge and 7% VAT. The total multiplier is x1.177.
Weekend lunch: THB 2,850++ per person. Net total approximately THB 3,354, or around USD 102 / EUR 88.
Dinner tasting menu: THB 5,250++ per person. Net total approximately THB 6,179, or around USD 187 / EUR 163.
Is there a weekend lunch?
Yes. Weekend lunch is available on Saturdays and Sundays, 12:00 to 14:00. It is a shorter format than the dinner tasting menu: same kitchen, same intention, lighter cadence. At THB 2,850++ per person, it is the most accessible entry point into Mia.
Is Mia right for me?
Is Mia suitable for a first fine dining experience?
Yes. Mia is one of the more approachable entries into Bangkok's starred dining field. The service is warm. The setting is a heritage home rather than a hotel ballroom. The weekend lunch at THB 2,850++ is a lower-commitment introduction than dinner.
Is Mia a good restaurant for couples?
Yes. The MICHELIN Guide lists Mia under its Date night category. Mia is spread across several small, intimate rooms, which means tables of two benefit from real privacy. The tasting menu format means the evening is paced and unhurried.
Is Mia good for vegetarians and vegans?
Yes. Mia offers the most complete and highest-level plant-based tasting menus at a MICHELIN-starred table in Bangkok, and the only ones that require no advance notice. The vegetarian and vegan menus are permanent, built at the same level of composition as the standard menu, every service.
Can I organise a birthday, anniversary or celebration at Mia?
Yes. Mention the occasion in the special requests section of the SevenRooms booking and the team will coordinate. The restaurant can arrange a complimentary celebration plate for the occasion. Guests who wish to bring their own cake are also welcome. There is no cakeage fee.
Can I organise a proposal at Mia?
